Metal Roofing Industries Pty. Ltd. Metal Roofing Industries Pty Ltd (MRI) commenced operations in Australia on 22nd September 1999. As the name implies, this company is involved in the manufacture and distribution of metal roofing, cladding, roofing accessories as well as steel purlins, battens and related roofing products, such as insulation materials, ventilators, fasteners etc. MRI is owned and operate by a group of Australian and overseas investors. The Shareholders and Directors are well respected professionals in the metal roofing and coil coating industries. In fact, MRI is part of a multinational group of companies with operations in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asian countries. This group is involved in diverse activities in rollforming, coil coating, galvanizing, slitting, shearing and sheet metal works. The MRI Group started in 1982 in timber processing, distribution and installation of roofing products, construction and trading of building materials. The activities of the group have grown both in diversification and geographical location. In 1988, MRI Group acquired the design and patents of the roofing division of Hunter Douglas Group in Australia and New Zealand. This major acquisition has enabled MRI to become probably the biggest manufacturer of the unique longrun metal roofing tile in the Asia Pacific region. The technology involved in the manufacture of the longrun metal tile is more sophisticated and advanced compared with the conventional roofing profiles. Further research and development carried out by MRI has moved the roofing tile to a new level of excellence in the form of enhanced features, attractive colours and a more superior coating system suited even for severe marine conditions. The MultiCote process is developed utilising and refining technologies through decades of continuous research and development in USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The different environments in these countries have enabled the Group to develop the latest state-of-the-art coating technologies to cater for the most extreme marine, thermal and industrial conditions.  MULTICOTE Coating System is developed in Australia by Australians for Australian conditions. It is the latest innovative technology of applying coatings to metals by a continuous coil to coil process to produce the finest, most durable and aesthetically pleasing finishes which have excellent colour retention, gloss retention, corrosion resistance and excellent formability. MRI products are manufactured by MULTICOTE G6, G7 and G8 coils which are available in both steel and aluminum substrates. The MULTICOTE coating systems comply with AS/NZS 2728.
